At 34, my life didn’t just change; it did a complete 180. I went from planning my future to fighting for it after a Stage 4 bowel cancer diagnosis. Following a gauntlet of countless chemotherapy rounds, radiotherapy, and multiple major surgeries over 3 years, I’ve finally reached the other side.

I am living proof that Stage 4 is not necessarily the end anymore. While the medical system worked miracles to save my life—and I have nothing but gratitude for the clinical care I received—I quickly realised it wasn’t exactly built for my life. Most resources are designed for a different generation, leaving those of us in the 20–49 gap feeling like an afterthought in a digital world.

Stage Four Strong is my first-hand account of navigating this “new normal.” It’s a space to share the raw learnings, the practical advice, and the community support that is often missing for younger survivors. We are a rapidly increasing group of young, health-conscious adults, and we deserve a narrative that matches our energy.

If my journey can help you find your footing at whatever stage you’re at, then every hurdle was worth it. Let’s redefine what “Stage 4” looks like, together 🖤.
